Breaker Won't Reset

Stop and read this first

  • Do not reset a breaker more than twice. Repeated resetting of a faulted circuit causes fires.
  • Never replace a breaker with a higher amperage rating — the wire is sized for the original breaker.
  • A buzzing breaker, warm panel cover, or burning smell means shut off the main and call an electrician immediately.
  • Never bypass, tape, or wedge a breaker closed.
