True Trade Path

Our promise to trade owners

We do not sell leads, shared leads, pay-per-call, bidding wars, or paid placement. Here is how we make money, what we will never do with homeowner data, and why that matters if you use our calculators or appear in the directory.

No lead selling — ever

Homeowners come here to understand a symptom, compare a cost range, or run a calculator before they hire anyone. That intent is valuable — which is exactly why so many directories treat it as inventory. We do not.

We do not auction contact information to the highest bidder. We do not sell “exclusive” leads that were resold to three other shops yesterday. We do not operate pay-per-call routing, shared-lead pools, or bidding wars where the contractor who pays the most gets the homeowner’s phone number first.

When a homeowner decides to call you, they use the phone number, email, or website you already publish. We are not paid for that introduction, and we do not sit in the middle of the conversation harvesting data to resell later.

No paid rankings

Directory order is not for sale. No one can buy a higher position in search results, a featured slot on a category page, or the removal of a competitor. Verification badges reflect documented checks and dates — not ad spend, not a premium tier, and not how much someone paid us this month.

That policy is spelled out in detail on our trust page: distance, relevance, verification status, and filters the homeowner applies are the inputs. Payment is not an input and there is no back channel to change rank.

If you see us in the market alongside lead sellers, the difference is structural: we are building reference content and tools homeowners trust, not a marketplace that optimizes for lead volume.

How we fund the free tools

Running calculators, templates, cost guides, and a directory costs money. We fund the site with display advertising on homeowner-facing pages, optional software for contractors who want more than the free kit, and eventually products you choose to buy because they help your business — not because you need leads to survive.

The pro toolkit stays free without a credit card. Job pricing, shop rate, labor burden, estimate and proposal generators, and field reference tools run in your browser. We are not gating exports behind a lead form or a “request a demo” wall.

Advertising on pro tool pages is kept secondary to usability. See our advertising disclosure for how commercial relationships are labeled. Editorial content, calculator logic, and verification outcomes are not for sale to advertisers.

Your data

We do not sell customer lists derived from pro tools. The homeowner who hired you last Tuesday is your relationship — not an asset we broker.

PDFs and documents you generate from templates stay on your device unless you choose to save or send them elsewhere. We do not require cloud upload to export an estimate, and we do not use your template inputs to build a resale list of your customers.

Privacy specifics — cookies, analytics minimization on pro flows, and what ad partners may see — are on /privacy. If you have a policy question, /contact is the right place.

FAQ

Do you sell leads?
No. We never sell homeowner contact information to contractors.
Do contractors pay to be listed?
Paid placement is not a ranking input. Listings come from public records and voluntary verification.
How do you make money?
Ads on homeowner pages, optional software, and future products — not lead fees.
Is the pro toolkit really free?
Yes. Templates and calculators run client-side; no card required.
Will you add pay-per-lead later?
That would contradict the promise on this page. We are building software and trust, not a lead exchange.
Do homeowners pay?
No — homeowner tools and guides are free to read and use.
Who owns reviews?
Review policy is on /trust — we do not copy reviews from other sites.
Can I link here from my site?
Yes — this page is the canonical statement of our position.
Do you share data with ad networks?
See /privacy — we minimize data collection on pro tools.
What about phone calls?
We do not operate a pay-per-call marketplace on homeowner intent.
Are estimates stored on your servers?
Template generators run in your browser; we do not require upload to export PDF.
Who do I contact?
Use /contact for corrections, verification, or policy questions.
