Ask a Pro — for trade owners
Ask a Pro lets experienced trade owners answer real homeowner questions with named credit, city, and a profile link — durable content that builds trust, not a live chat obligation or a lead auction.
Why answer
Homeowners search in plain language: “Is this quote high?” “Do I need a permit?” “Why is my breaker tripping?” When your answer is specific, dated, and tied to your trade, it outlasts a truck wrap or a boosted post.
Participation is voluntary reputation building, not on-call support. You choose questions where you have expertise. There is no quota, no scoreboard tied to lead purchase, and no requirement to respond in minutes.
Because we do not sell leads, the incentive alignment is different from lead-gen forums: the goal is accurate public information and a fair link to your business when someone wants a pro on site — not harvesting email addresses from the thread.
Credit and attribution
When you participate, your name, trade, and city appear with the answer, along with a link to your public profile when you have one. That is the credit line — not a banner ad inside the answer body.
Company promotion belongs on your profile and your site. Answers should read like what you would tell a neighbor: educational, scoped, and honest about when someone needs an in-person diagnosis.
Competitors can answer the same question. Quality and specificity win, not who paid for placement — because placement is not for sale here.
Rules and moderation
No self-promotion in the answer body, no lead harvesting, no harassment, and no personal attacks. Moderation applies; light edits for clarity may happen, and substantive changes go back to you when possible.
Answers are general information. Homeowners still need on-site diagnosis for their specific system, structure, or code jurisdiction. Saying so protects you and sets the right expectation.
If codes, prices, or best practices shift, you can submit corrections. Stale answers that mislead get updated or removed — same standard as our cost guides.
